February 1, 2022, the first day of the Chinese Lunar New Year. This issue contains some of the most widely read articles published in the past year.

The editorial board of the Financial and economic review decided to also continue in 2022 the initiative launched in 2018 and to publish another number of selected articles in Chinese language. Our aim is to make the main analyzes of our journal available to one of the fastest growing scientific workshops with the largest number of members in the world, that is, to a much wider readership. The honorable interest in Chinese-language publications also proves that this Chinese-language scientific educational journal is a gap-filling initiative.

As a publisher, Magyar Nemzeti Bank mainly seeks to support science education and deepening Sino-Hungarian economic and diplomatic relations by publishing an issue in Chinese.

Selected articles in this issue examine the dilemmas of the introduction of the euro, digital financial innovation, decentralized finance, the treatment of foreign exchange liquidity shocks in the euro area banking system, leverage effects and the role of gold, and the Eurasia Forum 2021.

Articles from the Chinese language issue are available on the website of the Financial and economic review:

We wish you a very pleasant reading.
