However, the CIU says that before they were granted citizenship, an investigation was carried out by the “world’s leading due diligence firm” and nothing implicating was found.
“No Interpol Red Notice had been issued for Mr. Bamise Ajetunmobi or Elizabeth Ajetunmobi. As such, upon the issuance of citizenship, there has been no adverse media, criminal or civil litigation, nor any regulatory issues associated with the applicants and their businesses, ”CIU said.
The CIU further said it would properly investigate their alleged crimes and “await the release of an official statement by the Nigerian authorities.” If found guilty, his citizenship can be revoked.
