Volunteer

DIVA depends on the energy of our volunteers to make the Center a destination for the visual and time-based arts downtown. You can help by volunteering your time and talents in a variety of ways, from being a Gallery Assistant, or helping with events, or if you have a special skill WE NEED YOU! Your volunteer hours count towards a membership at DIVA, while making art happen in the heart of Eugene!

 

OPPORTUNITIES:
 

• Gallery Assistant: Host the front desk, greet patrons, register class and event participants, answer phone, sell gift gallery items, and provide information about the Center's programs and opportunities.

 

• Event Assistant: Help stage film screenings and live performances including set-up/take down, ticket and snack bar sales.

 

• Exhibits Installation Assistant: Help install and take down exhibits.

 

• Reception Assistant: Help prepare and serve refreshments at receptions and other special Center Events.

 

• Office Assistant: Help with special bulk mailings, filing, and other office tasks.

 

• Graphic Arts Assistant: Design posters, flyers, and other materials to help promote Center events.

 

• Facility Maintenance Assistant: Help maintain the DIVA facilities from simple cleaning and replacing supplies to repair depending on skills.

 

• Postering Assistant: Deliver event posters, flyers, and cards to venues around the Eugene/Springfield area.

 

Training: All volunteers will be trained one on one during their service at DIVA. An orientation meeting for potential volunteers is scheduled twice a year. Check the DIVA Events Calendar for the next session.

 

BENEFITS
Earn A DIVA Membership: An individual who completes 20 hours of service and maintains 40 hours per year of volunteer work may be nominated for DIVA membership. Volunteer members receive Basic Member Benefits.
Be Nominated for Volunteer Of The Month: DIVA values its volunteers and each month selects a Volunteer of the Month. Individuals who are recognized are featured in the Center's online newsletter and Gallery Guide. A gift certificate of appreciation is also awarded.
